BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -A local nonprofit is hoping to make a big difference one meal at a time, launching a fundraising campaign to expand a unique culinary program that helps refugees share their culture through food.

CAREUSTZ has partnered with the Red Cross to raise $100,000 for a food truck that would allow their AfriGhanistan Cuisine program to reach more customers across multiple locations and days of the week.

The program, which blends African and Afghan foods, has traditionally run just one day a week for a few hours at the SOKY Center. Despite the limited schedule, AfriGhanistan Cuisine has become one of the most popular initiatives from the refugee empowerment organization.
