AROUND THE OZARKS. (KY3) - If you have little ghosts and goblins in your home this Halloween, take extra precautions to keep them safe.

Having a childproof home is tough, especially from Halloween through the holiday season.

Keep the Missouri Poison Center number handy (1-800-222-1222); a good spot to put it would be on your fridge.

If your child swallowed something and is still breathing, call the free number. You’ll talk to a registered pharmacist or nurse.

The most common call they’re getting right now is glow sticks.

“It can easily break in half if the child is older,” said Julie Weber, director of the Missouri Poison Center.

The chemicals inside glow sticks can be an irritant. If that irritant gets in their eye, wash it out immediately.
