SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -Springfield’s Convoy of Hope is receiving a large donation ahead of the holiday season.

Tyler Coupling, a coupling manufacturer based in Marshfield, said it all started when its team began working on a unique project.

The manufacturer currently rents two of three buildings from Freelander Industrial for additional warehouse space. While cleaning out one of the older buildings, previously occupied by Come Play Products, which closed in 2000, it uncovered nearly $250,000 worth of unused toys.

Included were plastic bowling sets, shopping carts, basketball sets, food bags, and cleaning sets, many still in their original packaging.

Rather than let them go to waste, the team at Tyler Coupling spent several days sorting the toys before donating them to Convoy of Hope.
