ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Rock River Valley Blood Center is hosting a 'Bleed for Weed' donation drive in collaboration with Lyfe Dispensary at the Roscoe Community Center.

The event offers eligible blood donors aged 21 and older a voucher for a free cannabis product and a complimentary t-shirt as incentives to participate.

"We are always looking for new blood donors, especially young ones, as our current donor base is aging," said Maggie Anderson, marketing and recruitment specialist.

Organizers aim to attract a new generation of blood donors through this unique initiative. By offering creative incentives, they hope to engage a section of the population that has not been reached before.
