BANGOR -- A warming shelter facing a funding shortage may have found a path forward.
Last month, we informed you that the brick church in Bangor may need to turn people away from its warming shelter due to insufficient grant funding.
Now, Pastor Leon Licata says the city of Bangor is offering up to $60,000 in funding.
There is an application process, but Licata says he's confident the brick church could get at least some of the funding to help with operational costs.
"It's not gonna cover everything," says Licata, "Because this money may be shared with other people that wanna do warming shelters, so we may only get a portion of that, which is definitely gonna just help to pay the operational cost of the warming shelter.
