A Santa Maria man with outstanding warrants, was arrested on narcotics and weapons charges after a Friday night traffic stop by the Santa Maria Police Department.
On Friday, Oct. 10, at approximately 9:47 p.m., officers from the department’s Gang Suppression Team conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Carlotti and Seaward Avenue.
The driver, identified as Israel Martinez, 47, a resident of Santa Maria, was found to have outstanding warrants for his arrest and was taken into custody. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located approximately 16.14 grams of suspected fentanyl, 2.5 grams of methamphetamine, and a loaded firearm.
Martinez was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail in Santa Maria on multiple weapons and narcotics-related charges.
