WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Authorities in Wyoming say a man is facing 22 counts of animal cruelty after a raid Friday on a property southeast of Cheyenne.
The Laramie County Sheriff's Office in Cheyenne said Friday's raid was a culmination of a joint investigation by its detectives and Animal Control. Detectives, assisted by Animal Control and the Cheyenne Compliance Department Code Enforcement, executed a search warrant on the rural property.
Over 100 animals were rescued, while 22 were found dead, according to the sheriff's office. The recovered animals include dogs, birds, rabbits, turtles, tortoises, goats and chickens, all found either injured, sick or malnourished.
