Tense scenes unfolded late Monday night at the South Asian University (SAU) campus in Delhi as dozens of students staged a protest following allegations that a student was sexually assaulted on campus.

Visuals emerging from the campus showed packed corridors, with students seated on the floor shoulder to shoulder, as university officials stood at the far end of the hallway addressing them.

“The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, and the administration is extending full cooperation to the investigating authorities,” an official statement by the university said.

According to the Delhi Police, a call was received at PS Maidangarhi around 3 pm regarding the alleged sexual assault of a student on

the campus. “The call was made by somebody known to the student.
