SAN ANTONIO — Accused of dragging an SAPD officer with his car, police are searching for a man in his 20s after they say he escaped a routine traffic stop.

A police report says this happened on New Sulpher Springs and Southcross Ranch Road on Saturday afternoon.

Dragged all the way to a field and back, that's what workers at a gas station nearby saw as a suspect took off, with an SAPD officer caught on his car.

Police say it all started when the officer, driving a marked patrol unit, pulled over a driver during a routine patrol.

While investigating, the officer discovered the man behind the wheel had active warrants for his arrest.
