MARSHFIELD, Mass. —
The effects of Monday's nor'easter were felt along the South Shore.
The storm brought rain, strong winds, and high surf to many communities, including Marshfield.
"The waves tend to come up over and hit a lot of the houses that are right there on the sea wall," one resident said.
The waves became something of a spectacle on Ocean Street.
In other parts of the state, a tree came down on a parked car in Milton, a retaining wall collapsed, injuring one person in Roxbury, and the high surf pushed a boat ashore in Marblehead.
Despite the damage from the winds, some residents said the rain was much-needed after a dry summer.
