MAGA stars Tucker Carlson and Alex Jones bashed President Donald Trump during a new episode of Carlson's show over the president's recent embrace of Ukraine and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Trump recently posted on Truth Social that he believed Ukraine could win the war against Russia and said he would reconsider selling long-range missiles to the country. The comments stand in stark contrast to other statements he's made about the war, including debunked claims about Ukraine being the aggressor.
Jones said Trump's Truth Social post was a "provocative and escalatory statement to Russia." He also suggested that it could prolong the war.
"We have to ask the calculus of why the president, who's Mr. Peace Prize and has done a great job helping in seven other conflicts, which I totally support, why is he suddenly changing course?" Jones pondered.
Carlson wondered why the United States continues to support Zelenskyy, arguing that he is an "unelected dictator." Trump has also previously referred to the Ukrainian president as a dictator.
"Why would the US government continue to recognize Zelenskyy, who's an unelected dictator, who's worked for years to destroy Christianity in Ukraine, which is a Christian country and has always been, why would he be invited to the White House this week?" Carlson asked.
"I don't understand it; he does not have a Democratic mandate," he continued. "He's not an elected leader. He's a murderer. They've sold our weapons to some of the worst terror groups in the world. And we're treating him like he's a head of state. Why are we doing that?"
