FARGO — Ethan Eiler was asked what’s so special about playing for the Fargo South boys soccer team this season.

The junior midfielder’s answer was simple.

“Just seeing different sides of everybody and different sides of the world,” Eiler said. “I mean, we play with guys from across 14 or 15 different countries. So seeing everyone come together is really special.”

Eiler’s estimate was a tad high — the Bruins roster is made up of players from 12 nations, along with a Native American representing the Hidatsa Tribe of the Three Affiliated Tribes.

Nonetheless, his point stands. South is represented by a broad range of cultures and backgrounds, and that unique bond has played a role in the Bruins’ success on the pitch this season.
