SANDUSKY COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) -- A woman was taken to the hospital after her vehicle crashed into a tractor-trailer on State Route 53 Monday afternoon, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said in a press release.

State troopers were called to an area of the road near the Ohio Turnpike in Rice Township around 3:30 p.m. for reports of a crash. Upon arrival they found a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee had gotten stuck under the trailer portion of a tractor-trailer.

The 26-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle had to be rescued and was flown to the the Toledo Hospital in what troopers described as serious condition. No one else was injured in the crash.
