PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A teenager was critically injured in a shooting on Monday night in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia, and a teenage suspect is in custody.

The shooting happened around 6:35 p.m. in the 3100 block of Gaul Street.

Police say the 16-year-old victim was shot in the face.

Officers rushed him to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children where he is in critical condition.

Investigators tell Action News a 15-year-old suspect is in custody.

The motive for the shooting is not yet known, though police say the suspect and the victim know each other.
