A truck driver was killed in a single-family crash on the Borman Expressway near Lake Station.

The fatal crash took place at 4 p.m. Monday on the 13-mile marker of eastbound Interstate 80-94, about a mile east of the Interstate 65 interchange.

"Troopers arrived at the scene and discovered a gravel truck had struck the median wall and the trailer overturned, resulting in gravel being thrown across all lanes of the westbound interstate," Indiana State Police Lowell Post Public Information Officer Sgt. Glen Fifield said. "Preliminary reports indicate that the truck was traveling eastbound in the right lane when, for unknown reasons, the truck drove to the left directly into the median wall and an overhead signpost.
