HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The City of Hanford is apologizing after a video circulating online showed the Youth Athletic Complex in "poor condition."
The city said that the video showed one of the baseball fields in extremely poor condition. They said they took action to determine who was responsible for the damage.
After gathering facts, the city said an employee had caused the damage. They do not believe the damage was intentional or malicious in nature and that the incident is "regrettable and unacceptable."
The city said it is taking corrective action and instituting new oversight measures to ensure something like this does not happen again.
Crews are working to repair the damage, and the restoration of the field may be delayed due to rain.
