Donald Trump has threatened to provide Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles as a means to pressure Vladimir Putin into ending the conflict. ‌

"I might say, 'Look: if this war is not going to get settled, I'm going to send them Tomahawks," the US president told reporters aboard Air Force One en route to Israel on Sunday. "The Tomahawk is an incredible weapon, very offensive weapon. And honestly, Russia does not need that." ‌

This follows Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's appeal to Trump for enhanced military backing during a weekend phone conversation. ‌
