BAKERSFIELD, Calif, (KGET) -- Renovation work continues on downtown Bakersfield's historic Woolworth’s building. It’s been a four-year process, but the end is finally in sight. The grand opening is later this month.

But the doors are already open -- a couple of the doors, anyway.

One-hundred-forty million Americans start their mornings with coffee. Not all of them were at Reverb Coffee Monday morning; it may have seemed like it, though, if you were in line waiting for your first cup of Joe.

Reverb Coffee is, for the time being, the public face of the Woolworth’s building, the nearly complete renovation project at the corner of 19th and K streets.

The line was steady all morning. Lisa Price-Gonzales walked a block from her office at the Community Action Partnership of Kern.
