Apathy is rampant. It’s the way it is. I’m resigned to it. And those who don’t agree are just not paying attention.

Still, I do what I can to blow back against the storm. Point it out. Make fun and name names. Sing songs and write words. In the days before smartphones I’m convinced that someone would have noticed. Not now. But to quote a lot of people, “It is what it is.”

I don’t read as much as some people, but I still read pretty much every day. I try to have a book going. I usually try to skim the pages of this newspaper every day, saying to myself with anticipation, “Let's see what’s going on in Aspen.”
