Late in the first half Friday night, with St. Joseph parked on the Paso Robles 9 on second down, Paso Robles jammed its defenders within five yards of the line of scrimmage in a formation that said, "We're stonewalling the middle area."

The St. Joseph offense lined up in a formation that said, "That's where we're going."

St. Joseph running back Abraham Meza did run up the middle. He bulled into the end zone over right guard behind his surging offensive line.
