HILLSDALE -- Through 100 minutes of soccer and five rounds of penalty kicks, nothing had been decided in Monday’s boys soccer district semifinal between Grass Lake and Michigan Center.
After a 2-2 tie through overtime, each team sent five players to the penalty spot to try to earn the upper hand and the win, but each team scored four times. Finally, with each side’s sixth shooter, the Warriors ended it. Quin Ziemke put a goal in the net for Grass Lake, and the response from the Cardinals slid wide to the left.
