Kupwara, October 14: In a coordinated response under Operation AMAR, the Indian Army and J&K Police foiled an infiltration attempt in the Machhal sector of Kupwara. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, security forces launched a joint operation after receiving credible information about a potential terrorist movement. Alert troops detected suspicious activity near the Line of Control and challenged the infiltrators, who opened indiscriminate fire. In the ensuing exchange, two terrorists were neutralized. A large quantity of weapons and equipment was recovered. The operation remains ongoing.
