BIRMINGHAM – The host Birmingham Seaholm Maples got a big game from senior Patrick McCarthy and rolled to a 7-0 win over the Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks in Monday’s district semifinal.

The Black Hawks came into the game looking to spring an upset after falling to the Maples during the regular season, but Seaholm put Bloomfield Hills on notice early, scoring two goals in the opening 10 minutes to set the tone.

Both came from McCarthy throw-ins. Kaden Kotila got the first tally with a back-post volley just 1:43 into the game, then Gavin Mcloughlin added the second on a header just 5:31 in, and the Maples had a lead with a bit of cushion before the crowd had fully settled into their seats.
