Chandigarh (14.10.2025): Following intense public and political pressure related to the alleged suicide of IPS officer Y Puran Kumar , the Government of Haryana has sent Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor (IPS: 1990: HY) on leave. Om Prakash Singh (IPS: 1992: HY) has been appointed as the state's interim DGP . The administrative action comes after the deceased officer’s detailed "suicide note" reportedly named DGP Kapoor and the then Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarniya. The note levelled serious allegations of caste-based discrimination, mental harassment, and professional victimization against the senior officers.
