Two Newcastle Knights on contrasting journeys in their careers have been named in the English squad to tackle Australia in the Ashes.

Dominic Young, who rejoined the organisation mid-season, and Kai Pearce-Paul, who is leaving the Hunter for the Wests Tigers in 2026, gained the nod from coach Shaun Wane this week.

They’ll go head-to-head with teammate Bradman Best, selected for the Kangaroos ahead of Test matches at Wembley Stadium (25 October), Everton Stadium (1 November) and Headingley (8 November).

In fact, NRL stars will make up a quarter of the English line-up.

Wane confirmed on Monday night Gold Coast fullback AJ Brimson would likely make his debut.

John Bateman, Herbie Farnworth and Morgan Smithies also feature, with Victor Radley unavailable.
