HAMMOND, Ind. — The Michigan Tech Huskies volleyball team fell 3-1 at Purdue Northwest on Sunday in the only meeting with the Pride this season. Purdue Northwest won 25-21, 25-21, 22-25, and 25-22.
The match had 27 ties and 16 lead changes. The Pride overcame 11 lead changes in the first set and scored the final nine points to take the lead. The Huskies had more kills in the opening frame but also had more errors.
Purdue Northwest (7-7, 4-4 GLIAC) never trailed in the second, though the Huskies kept it within a four-point margin. Freshman right side hitter Madelyn Torola had eight kills in the second, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Pride’s .341 hitting percentage.
