The herd of elephants that had moved from Chandaka forest returned to the Athagarh forest range in Odisha. However, two elephants from the group got stranded near Nidhipur on Tuesday. With morning approaching, the two were unable to return to the forest and were seen standing in a paddy field. The Athagarh Forest Department is maintaining a close watch on their movements.
According to reports, elephants typically travel during the night and retreat deeper into the forest before daybreak. However, in this instance, it is suspected that two elephants were unable to return in time. Upon encountering humans, they appeared hesitant and were unable to proceed further.
Crowd Gathers, Delays Safe Return
Forest officials noted that a large number of local residents had gathered along Nidhipur ro
