The 93rd Kansas Junior Livestock Show took place Oct. 3-5 in Hutchinson.
The event attracted 706 exhibitors and featured 1,476 head of livestock, according to a community announcement.
Dax Seibert, of Pawnee County, led the grand champion market steer, a 1,449-pound crossbred entry. His steer outperformed 124 others in the show, which was sponsored by Merck Animal Health. The reserve champion steer, weighing 1,468 pounds, also came from the crossbred division and was owned by Emma Karst, of Russell County.
Third overall went to the champion Chianina steer, also shown by Seibert. Placing fourth overall was the champion Simmental exhibited by Kinley Stoughton, of Russell County. Fifth place went to the champion Hereford steer led by Dustin Denton, of Marshall County.
