Joel Mokyr is an economic historian at Northwestern University, USA. Originally from the Netherlands and educated in Israel and the US, Mokyr is widely regarded as one of the most influential scholars on the economic history of Europe. Philippe Aghion is a French economist, currently at the Collège de France and the London School of Economics. He has worked extensively on growth theory, innovation policy, and the economics of education.
