Andy McCollum received a pleasant surprise during his recent Summit County Sports Hall of Fame induction.

A retired Super Bowl-winning offensive lineman , McCollum thought his former Revere High School football head coach, Joe Pappano , would likely attend the banquet on Oct. 7 in Akron.

However, McCollum didn’t know Pappano would coordinate with Revere’s administration and assemble a larger contingent. Pappano and four of his old Minutemen assistant coaches showed up to support McCollum, who traveled from his home in Eureka, Missouri, for the ceremony .
