A north-east group which encourages men to get together socially to take up new hobbies and support the local community has officially opened its doors.

Portsoy Men’s Shed was established in December 2024, going on to lease a former bakery and shop in The Square in the town as its meeting place earlier this year.

Volunteer members spent time reorganising the premises and installing machinery and tools, as well as fitting out the shop area for selling local handmade craft items, before officially opening the doors on Saturday, October 11.

Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire, Andrew Simpson, cut the ribbon to officially declare the shed and adjoining shop open.
