(WOWT) - Officials put four Iowa communities under a drinking water advisory late Monday.

The advisory, categorized as a “Level RED,” is impacting the towns of Kirkman, Elk Horn, Exira, and Brayton. It was issued by the Regional Water Public Water Supply System.

According to a post on social media from the City of Exira, officials heard of an accident in eastern Shelby County just after 3:30 p.m. Monday. The accident caused a power spike in the area and damage to a pump at Booster Station 4.

“As of now, there is no water flowing to Tower 4, which is currently the only tower serving eastern Shelby and Audubon County customers,” the post states.
