New Delhi: Filmmaker Sudipto Sen, director of The Kerala Story, has strongly criticised the Filmfare Awards 2025, calling them a “mockery” of Indian cinema. His comments came days after Laapataa Ladies swept the awards ceremony in Ahmedabad, winning Best Film and 12 other trophies, including top acting honours for Alia Bhatt, Abhishek Bachchan, and Kartik Aaryan.

For those who have missed it, Sudipto took to Instagram to share a detailed note expressing his disappointment over the winners.
