Farewell gift: Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb have struck a deal, under which Haslam will contribute $100 million to the city in exchange for city officials dropping their legal challenges to the team moving to suburban Brook Park. As Rich Exner and Sean O’Donnell report , the deal removes one of the last major hurdles to the Browns leaving their current lakefront home in downtown Cleveland for a $2.4 billion stadium near Cleveland Hopkins International Airport in time for the 2029 NFL season. Bibb said he and Haslam reached the settlement last Friday over a couple of Cokes at Haslam’s house.
