Truck hauling vehicles burns along I

A semi-trailer truck carrying multiple vehicles burst into flames Monday night along westbound Interstate 94 in LaPorte County, various area fire departments reported.

No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze, but most of the vehicles being hauled were consumed in the fire, officials said.

The westbound lanes of the busy highway were expected to remain closed for a few hours while the fire was extinguished and roadway cleared.

The cause of the fire was not immediately determined.

Among those responding were the Michigan City Fire Department, Coolspring Volunteer Fire Department and Pines Fire Department.
