A busy train crossing in Norwalk is closing for a second time in two months.

CTDOT announced Tuesday the “start of construction for the repairs to Route 123 at New Canaan Avenue grade crossing.”

According to the department, “the roadway elevation is too high east of the railroad crossing and too low west of the crossing.”

“This is causing a very short transition at the crossing causing difficulty for motor vehicles,” CTDOT wrote in its press release.

The repairs are causing drivers to experience the same detours they experienced in early August. (See post from August below)
