CHARLESTON -- Serious high-school-aged instrumental musicians are invited to apply for West Virginia Symphony Orchestra's prestigious and exclusive Andrew and Amy Vaughan Student Symphonic Fellowship.

This monitored and time-intensive training program can accelerate the students' musical educations and help guide them to their future careers.

Sponsored by Dr. Andrew and Amy Vaughan of Charleston, this fellowship program began in 2002 to develop and encourage West Virginia high-school students to pursue careers as future professional musicians, educators, composers or conductors, according to a news release.

The deadline to apply is Wednesday, Dec. 17.
