Ahmedabad: A Hong Kong-bound Qatar Airways flight from Doha was diverted to Ahmedabad airport on Tuesday afternoon after it developed some technical issues mid-air, PTI reported.

Flight QR-816 took off from Doha’s Hamad International Airport around 9 am (Qatar time) and was “diverted” and landed safely at Sardar Vallabhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA). ADVERTISEMENT

“Due to some technical issues mid-air, the Doha-Hong Kong flight of Qatar Airways was diverted to Ahmedabad as a precautionary measure. It safely landed at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport at around 2.40 pm,” an airport official said.

A full emergency was declared at the airport, ANI reported. Normal services resumed some time after the flight landed without glitches.
