An Upstate New York woman has been charged with manslaughter an alleged drunk driving crash killed two people.

Imahjai Sutherland, 25, of Albany, was allegedly driving a vehicle that crashed into an embankment off I-787 southbound near exit 5 in the Capital Region on Sunday. New York State Police said the I-90 exit 6A off-ramp to I-787 South was closed in both directions Sunday morning to investigate the crash.

Two passengers in the vehicle were declared dead at the scene. They have been identified as Jamilla N. Tirado, 27, and Cepelynn T. Johnson, 25, both of Albany.

Sutherland was transported to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries.

Police said Sutherland was identified as the driver of the vehicle at the time of the crash. Troopers said they observed “signs of intoxication”
