Iinterviewed Diane Keaton once , for a movie I absolutely hated , "Love the Coopers."
This happens sometimes. You set up an interview, see the movie so that you know what you're talking about and ... ugh. Happily, the actors and directors usually know that this is a business transaction (and know deep down if the movie isn't good). So they rarely ask what you thought of the movie. And instead of saying that you liked the film, you maybe say, "It was interesting" or something.
"Love the Coopers" was terrible. But Diane Keaton was delightful. So we began by talking about the new wine she was coming out with. She could not have been nicer.
Keaton was, yes, quirky. Which is often the way her acting is described, or the characters she played.
