The official golf season wrapped up last week with several events at the Southampton Golf and Country Club.

On Thursday, the closing Men’s Scramble was held where groups are formed based on handicaps to ensure all teams are fairly allocated. For example, players with lower handicaps are matched with higher handicap players to form teams of three or four golfers. Each player hits their drive on each hole and the best shot is chosen by the team captain to hit next. This format carries on until the hole is finished and the score for the team is recorded. The lowest team score is declared the winner after nine holes are completed.
