India’s wholesale price inflation moderated to 0.13% in September from 0.52% in August as food prices fell further, data released by the government on Tuesday showed. The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) inflation in September of last year was 1.91%.
Retail inflation eased to an eight-year low of 1.54% in September, as per data released on Monday. The further fall in WPI inflation amplifies the chances of retail prices to remain subdued on sequential terms for the next couple of months at least, especially given the cut in Goods and Services Tax ( GST ).
