With the cost of food still high, members of the public who may not have been able to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal received a warm welcome on Monday at the Dew Drop Inn.
“It’s an open invitation to the community to anyone who for whatever reason is not going to be able to enjoy a turkey to come in and enjoy one,” said Michael Quibell, executive director of Dew Drop Inn.
For the past 44 years, the Dew Drop Inn has hosted a Thanksgiving Day meal, something Quibell said the people who come in really appreciate.
“A lot of people really appreciate that our holiday meals are on the actual holiday,” he said.
Last year, more than 780 people sat down for the meal, or took one home with them to go, and Quibell said they were expecting the same turnout this year.
