FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Two Kentucky lawmakers say they plan to introduce legislation next year to honor conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Sen. Steve Rawlings, R-Burlington, announced his intention to file a bill on the first day of the 2026 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly to designate October 14 as “Charlie Kirk Day” in the commonwealth.

Rawlings said he will be joined by Rep. TJ Roberts, R-Burlington, who plans to file companion legislation in the House.

According to the announcement, the measure would honor Kirk’s life and legacy. The Turning Point USA founder was born October 14, 1993, and died September 10 after he was shot while speaking at an event.
