MCEWEN, Tenn. (WSMV) - An employee at Accurate Energetic Systems (AES) is opening up about the explosion that local officials said left 16 people dead and a few others injured.
Jayd Begin said she worked at AES for three months and knew many of the victims.
“You get a work family, and you grow to know these people. Some of them had been there for 15 years, some of them had just come back from visiting their family, and some were just starting their life,” Begin said.
On the morning of Oct. 10, just before 8 a.m., a blast that could be felt miles away destroyed the AES facility, leaving many killed and several injured.
Begin told WSMV4 that she worked in the building that was destroyed and had left just hours before.
