GREENDALE, Indiana (WXIX) - A southeastern Indiana elected official is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday on multiple felony charges.

Greendale City Councilman Brett “Mooch” Hamilton, 46, is due before a judge at 10:30 a.m. in Dearborn County Circuit Court in Lawrenceburg, according to the county prosecutor.

Hamilton is accused of stealing “at least $50,000 and less than $100,000″ from the Dillsboro Civic Club for personal gain while he served as president from 2018 until earlier this year, according to court records released Tuesday by Prosecutor Lynn Deddens.

He is held at the Dearborn County Jail on one felony count each of money laundering, fraud, theft, corrupt business influence and official misconduct, according to state police.
