HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) - The Owensboro Fire Department is turning to the community for a contest to design the next patch to be worn by Owensboro's firefighters.

Officials state the winning design will become the new official patch for OFD, and the artist will receive special recognition for the work.

The deadline to submit designs will be November 7. The new patch also must include "Owensboro Fire Dept." and cannot have firearms, tobacco or images of alcohol.

Anyone in the community can submit ideas as there is no age limit.
