MOORHEAD — The St. Andrew’s Scottish Society will celebrate its 40th annual dinner and program on Saturday, Nov. 1, at The Courtyard by Marriott, 1080 28th Ave. S., in Moorhead.
The social hour begins at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 5:30 p.m.
Guests will enjoy a menu celebrating Scotland’s signature flavors, including haggis, the much-maligned but proudly ‘braw’ national dish made from organ meat, oatmeal and spices. For the less adventurous, the meal also features Scottish-ale braised beef, neeps (mashed turnips), champit tatties (mashed potatoes), fresh-baked scones, buttery shortbread and cranachan — a traditional dessert of whipped cream, whiskey, honey, toasted oats and fresh raspberries
Entertainment will feature the Heather and Thistle Pipes and Drums Band, a Fargo-based ensembl
