Overcast skies, sweater weather, fall leaves, pumpkin patches … we are certainly in the throes of autumn.
Here’s one more mile marker we’ve passed into spooky season: Western Washington’s first frost of the year.
The National Weather Service issued a frost advisory for the interior lowlands, including Olympia and Chehalis, and the foothills, from Lewis County all the way up to the Canadian border, for Tuesday morning between 2 and 8 a.m.
People living inland on the west side of the state may awake to a crisp coat of silver over their porches and vegetation. Temperatures dropped to the low 30s, NWS meteorologist Samantha Borth said.
A second dusting of frost may come Wednesday morning, when temperatures are expected to return to the low 30s, she said.
