Former Kentucky poet laureate coming to Cave City

CAVE CITY, Ky. (WBKO) — Former Kentucky Poet Laureate Silas House is bringing his words to Barren County this month.

On Sunday, Oct. 19, House will visit Ace Coffee Co. from 4 to 5:30 p.m. to read from his two latest books, All These Ghosts and Dead Man Blues.

Attendees can expect a Q&A session and book signing after the reading, giving fans a chance to meet House in person.

The event will be hosted by American Pickers star Mike Wolfe, with Barren County historian Sam Terry serving as moderator. The Jenny Roads will perform music selections.

House served as poet laureate from 2023-24.

A poet laureate is an officially recognized poet who represents and promotes the literary arts, often serving as an ambassador for poetry in their state or country.
